NBC's news magazine ‘Rock Center with Brian Williams’ is on the move, setting up shop Wednesdays at 9 p.m. starting tonight.

Rock Center's time slot may be changing, but its approach is not.

"It won't change Rock Center," Brian Williams said.

The news magazine debuted three months ago with a promise for its viewers.

"You'll learn a lot along the way,” Williams said “You will talk about a lot of it the next day."

Correspondent Meredith Vieira's very likely accomplishing that this week; Vieira's ‘Rock Center’ debut is an interview with the former White House intern who claims to have had an 18-month affair with President John F. Kennedy.

Vieira joins a large roster of ‘Rock Center’ correspondents that largely flexes its reporting muscle in the field.

But several riveting minutes in studio have maybe been the program's watershed moment so far, a legacy building block for a broadcast still in its infancy.

"I think Rock Center is dead center where we want it," Williams said.

‘Rock Center with Brian Williams’ airs in its new time slot tonight at 9.
