Lindsay Lohan returns to SNL
UNDATED (WHDH) -- Actress Lindsay Lohan's personal life has gotten plenty of attention in recent years.
Now, she's trying to get her professional life back on track.
One step comes when she hosts "Saturday Night Live" this week.
Lohan's back in Studio 8H, after prodding SNL honcho Lorne Michaels
"I went and e-mailed him, and kind of was harassing him to meet with me, to let me do the show.
And he believes in me," Lohan told Matt Lauer earlier this week on the Today Show.
Now the actress who's been the occasional target of the show's humor will be on hand herself for the fun and games.
"I want to poke fun at myself," she said.
Mindful of the wealth of material her life might provide the show's writers, Lohan did check on what should stay off limits.
"I spoke with my attorney, and I asked her, I didn't want to be disrespectful to my judge or anything and she's been really wonderful to me and helped me a lot," Lohan explained.
"Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" was also part of Lohan's NBC tour this week as the 25-year-old sets about rebooting her career.
After her SNL duty Lohan will be playing Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie about the actress' life with husband Richard Burton.
