Hunger Games premieres. Watch the trailer!

UNDATED (WHDH) -- A book that has captured the imaginations of millions of readers is coming to the big screen. The characters from “The Hunger Games” will soon come to life, but turning fiction into reality was no small task.

“The wig was sort of constantly evolving,” said Elizabeth Banks, an actress.

Elizabeth Banks plays the colorful Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games and she said creating her wig wasn’t easy.

“How big does it get? How much is in there? And we were constantly adding colors and pieces,” said Banks.

“She was very sophisticated, classic you know very much a ‘fashionista’ to the Capitol,” said Linda Flowers, head of the hair department on set.

Flowers was in charge of making sure everyone’s hair was camera ready.

The Hunger Games will be in theaters and I-MAX tonight at midnight. Watch the trailer below.
