UNDATED (WHDH) -- Tom Brady and Gisele on were on the red carpet at the Met Gala, but it was Brady’s new look that turned heads.
It was a star-studded night of high fashion in the Big Apple. Everybody was checking out the gorgeous dresses -- but at home, Brady’s new “do” created the biggest buzz.
Forget Gisele -- it was Tom Brady’s hair once again making headlines.
Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman didn’t know what to make of their quarterback’s "faux hawk."
"I didn't see the faux hawk pictures, but I’m kind of speechless that it was even called a faux hawk," Edelman said.
“I might do it now. No, that's Julian -- he loves style," Gronkowski said.
Teammate Wes Welker says Brady’s just channeling his inner idol, tweeting:
“He's just a big fan of Adam Lambert!”
“It sort of just looks like Gisele probably had some influence on that. He looks sort of snazzy,” said Jamie Burke.
On the very-fashionable Newbury Street, some people said the faux hawk was a fashion faux pas.
“Faux hawks are awful. Faux anything is usually awful,” said one man.
The hair headlines are reminiscent of 2009 when the quarterback sported long locks.
“It’s better than the longer hair, that's for sure,” said Niki Birbilis.
But stylists see the fun in Tom's latest do.
“Hair can always be changed according to the situation. I think it's great. Nothing wrong with it,” said Nestor Real, Diego Salon.
At Diego Salon they've seen lots of looks come and go, and believe this style will stick with some trendy Bostonians. And speaking of "stick," at least some people question how Tom even got his hair to stay that way.
“There's a little bit too much gel in that maybe,” Jamie Burke said.
This isn't the first time Tom Brady’s gotten attention for fashion. Last year he became spokes model for the Uggs shoe brand.
