BOSTON (WHDH) -- A winner of "The Voice" has been crowned, and even though James Massone didn't make it, he received an honor of his own on Tuesday.

The Wakefield native and his family stopped by the State Senate to receive an official citation. It commended Massone's outstanding talent that he demonstrated on 7NBC’s "The Voice."

Massone shot to stardom as a contestant on Cee Lo Green's team. He says even though he didn't win “The Voice,” he still plans to pursue a career in music.
