BOSTON (WHDH) -- Principals are sure to be busy in the coming weeks with the start of another school year and getting their attention will be challenging.

Reader’s Digest recently interviewed many about their biggest pet peeves, so pesky parents listen up!

Talk in the morning.

Many principals said they can be pretty stressed by the end of the school day, so they encourage parents to schedule morning meetings.

Don’t say your kids don’t lie. The principal doesn’t want to hear that your kid never lies; they've heard all the excuses.

Finally, talk to the teacher first. Approach your child's teacher about classroom issues before notifying the principal.
