Oscar voting deadline extended

UNDATED (WHDH) -- Oscar voting deadlines were extended due to growing concerns that problems with the new electronic Oscar voting system could lead to record-low turnout.

Voting was extended for one extra day - until Friday.

It was the first time the annual contest has adopted an online voting system.

In the past, Oscar voting has been compiled strictly through paper ballots sent through the mail.
