BOSTON -- Governor Deval Patrick joined the Boston Pops on Thursday at Symphony Hall to narrate the holiday classic “'Twas the Night before Christmas.”

The Boston Pops orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus sang familiar Christmas-time carols.

The performance included a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Patrick and the audience also participated in sing-a-longs, featuring tunes like “Silver Bells,” “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
