7NEWS winner meets 'Vampire Diaries' stars

BOSTON -- A local girl got the opportunity to really sink her teeth into a CW hit.

Elena Muse a 7NEWS winner got to travel to New York to talk to the stars of the hit show “The Vampire Diaries.”

"It was so unreal. I'm so used to watching them like watching them do their thing on the show. It was so weird to actually have their attention all on me,” said Muse.

Nerves aside, Muse made it through her interview.

"I was so excited so I didn't want to forget the questions, which I did forget a couple questions. I even forgot to hold the microphone up to the cast,” said Muse.

She learned that, despite being a supernatural teen drama, the actors can still find a way to relate to their vampire or vampire-loving characters on the show.

"I guess just your average girl trying to figure out her life day by day,” said Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert.

"Damon’s very lonely, and he's an angry guy, and I think we all know what it's like to be lonely at times and angry at times,” said Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore.

Muse also learned that Somerhalder likes his brother in real life.

"I find similarities between myself and Damon. However, I’m not a maniacal sociopath killer,” said Somerhalder.

Guess that's all Muse needed to hear to know that these guys are nothing to fear.

"How about a group hug?” said Somerhalder.

“That'll cost ya,” said Muse.

Muse said she had a great time at the interview.

"It was just so fun overall,” she said.

“The Vampire Diaries” airs on Thursdays on CW56.
