PLAISTOW, N.H. -- A spoof of Jay-Z's “Empire State of Mind” paying homage to New Hampshire has become one of the hottest clips on YouTube.

The video for the song “Granite State of Mind," was posted on YouTube Wednesday, and amassed almost 300,000 views in just two days.

The filmmaker. New Hampshire native Christian Wisecarver, was watching Jay-Z’s original when the idea came to him.

“I can make a good version of this for New Hampshire…I printed out the lyrics and started looking at and  figuring out I could New Hampshire-ize them basically,” Wisecarver said.

In the song, Wisecarver gives shout outs to some big time homegrown celebrities.

“Now I’m down in Beford home of Seth Meyers, also Sarah Silverman,” he says in the song.

Myers, in turn, took to Twitter to give the song props.

“All my NH homies should watch ‘Granite State of Mind.’ Proud to get name-dropped with @sarahksilverman,” Myers wrote.

It’s also a big hit with the locals.

“I was really blown away by it. I always hated the Jay-Z version," said one New Hampshire resident.

The song’s success took Wisecarver by surprise.

“I didn’t see it blowing up this quickly and I think a lot of it is due to people from New Hampshire being proud of being from New Hampshire," Wisecarver said.

Wisecarver is scheduled to appear on the "Today Show" Sunday.
