New hospital drama premieres on CW56

UNDATED (WHDH) -- A new medical drama debuts on television Tuesday night -- it follows the life of a first year intern who quickly finds out that life in the hospital isn’t much different than high school.

Mamie Gummer plays Emily Owens in the CW’s new drama series “Emily Owens, M.D.” Owens is a first-year surgical intern at Denver Memorial Hospital.

Owens quickly discovers that the hospital is just like high school and that it may be hard to shake her geeky-girl ways, especially in the presence of her high school nemesis and med school crush.
