Bradley Cooper attends upstate NY premiere of film
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) -- Bradley Cooper has lent some star power to the upstate New York premiere of his latest film by showing up at a theater in the city where the movie was filmed.
Local media outlets report that Cooper and Derek Cianfrance, director and co-writer of "The Place Beyond the Pines," were in downtown Schenectady Thursday night for the movie's first showing in the area where it was filmed over several weeks in 2011.
Afterward, Cooper headed back to Boston, where he's shooting scenes for a film that also features Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence.
"The Place Beyond the Pines," the Mohawk Indian translation for Schenectady, also stars Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. Gosling plays a stunt motorcycle rider who starts robbing banks to support he child he had with Mendes. Cooper portrays a police officer.
