Shakira spices up 'The Voice'
BOSTON (WHDH) -- NBC’s blockbuster show, The Voice, is ready to debut with a few fresh faces.
One of them is Shakira. The worldwide superstar takes over as the lone woman on the panel. She's been busy recently becoming a new mom.
Now, she's focused on picking America’s next singing superstar.
“I’ve come here to be a mentor to people who have dreams just like I once had,” said Shakira.
She may be new, but she has no problem making her voice heard.
As the only woman in the big chairs, she's proving she can hang with the guys.
And she shouldn't be underestimated.
"These two guys, three seasons already, they’re almost deaf,” said Shakira.
Her fellow coaches weighed in on her feisty competitiveness.
Blake: Shakira is so sweet and beautiful, and then the claws come out.
Shakira: Like a predator...
Blake: and you’re like woah!
Usher: the nice Shakira all of sudden had a switch blade. She spit out a razor. And I was like this is serious!
In the end, Shakira gets what she wants.
"Never underestimate a 5'3 Columbian girl,” she said.
Catch the premiere of Season 4, of 'The Voice', Monday night at 8 p.m. right here on 7NBC.
