LOS ANGELES (WHDH) -- The hit singing show, ‘The Voice,’ is down to its final six and next week, voters will send home two more of the finalists.
Entertaining for us, but it’s a tough competition for them with some surprises along the way. The final six tells 7News, the tough competition has made them ready for anything that comes their way.
The days are counting down until the big finale and so is the number of singers left on the show. With only six left in the competition and two voted off each week, it's time to get dirty.
“I have a wicked backhand so I kind of give them a little discipline and when he gets out of line I give him a little slap,” contestant Cassadee Pope joked around with teammate, Terry McDermott.
Pope and McDermott are on Blake Shelton's team and say the pressure is building.
Whether or not they're crowned the champion of ‘The Voice,’ they said their experiences on the show have already been a once in a lifetime experience.
That includes getting face time with celebrities coaches like Cee-Lo Green, who has a distinct style.
7’s Nancy Chen asked Pope and McDermott if they can keep a straight face whenever he's talking with a cockatoo on his shoulder.
“No,” said Pope.
“When he came out in the big wig, I must admit, that was a real distraction. I was like, okay, how am I going to pull this off now?” said McDermott.
McDermott said he's enjoying the competition despite the high stakes and stress and that he's not in a big hurry for it to be over.
In the meantime, America is watching and waiting to voice their choice.
