UNDATED (WHDH) -- If Trevin Hunte’s sweet voice didn't get you, well, his sweet soul just might.
“I just want this so I can work hard so my mother don't have to, my father don't have to stress anymore,” Trevin Hunte told 7’s Nancy Chen.
At just 18 years old, Trevin has already overcome plenty of obstacles; he says he's been bullied by classmates -- even discouraged by a teacher.
But Trevin's confidence is now soaring just like his popularity with America.
His voice may be bold, but he's actually pretty shy in person and doesn't seem to have much of an ego, which has helped win the hearts of his fellow contestants and not just from this season of “The Voice.”
“I'm very close with James Massone from last season of ‘The Voice,’ and I know he's from Boston too,” Trevin said.
Trevin and James met earlier this year in Las Vegas during a special performance by coach Cee-Lo Green.
“He invited us, his team, to sing with him in his Christmas play with the Muppets so that was something very exciting. It was my first time in Vegas, and I treasure that moment,” Trevin said.
The two even tweet each other after Trevin sings each week; performances that Trevin seems to be nailing as he makes his way into the top six.
