David, McDermott and Pope move on in Voice finals
UNDATED (WHDH) -- The drama lasted into the closing credits on The Voice.
Nicholas David, the soulful singer from egan, minnesota earned the last spot in next week's finale.
"We've become like brothers. It was just hard to know it was one or the other. That was nerve wracking in itself,” said David.
Getting that third and final spot meant David's Team Ceelo colleague, 18-year-old Trevin Hunte, was eliminated.
“I'm happy and excited that this weight has been lifted off me and I get a chance to see my big brother, y'know, actually get an opportunity to actually win this thing,” said Hunte.
Earlier in the night, both of Blake Shelton's singers advanced.
Starting with the rocker from Aberdeen, Scotland, Terry Mcdermott who scored Monday night with his rendition of a Beatles classic, written by Paul
Mccartney.
"I haven't heard from Paul unfortunately. If I did hear from Paul, I assure you I'd be wheeled up here on a stretcher,” said McDermott.
Minutes after McDermott gained his spot in the finals, Cassadee Pope -- the only female left in the competition, did too after she hit number one on Tuesday’s iTunes chart.
“Each time all of us takes the stage, it's just an emotional rollercoaster ride. And I know the audience connects that,” said Pope.
Now, for Pope, McDermott and David - that ride continues next week.
