BOSTON (WHDH) -- The late Senator Ted Kennedy's passion for plays and history is being commemorated with a generous prize, for talented playwrights.
The Edward Kennedy Prize for Drama will give a $100,000 award to a playwright whose work is inspired by American history.
It will be administered by Columbia University.
The first prize will be announced next year.
