FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WHDH) -- As the storm bears down on New England, Foxborough officials said they are planning for a mini Armageddon as snow started to quickly accumulate and winds picked up late Friday night.
“Three or four days, potentially, where traffic is unable to move -- transportation is snow shoes, skis and snowmobiles. Public safety is really hamstrung in its ability to evacuate people,” said an official.
Foxborough police borrowed a few snowmobiles in case they need to get somewhere but can’t because of the snow.
“They’ll go through anything -- three feet of snow won’t bother them a bit. If they do have an emergency or out where they can’t get to...they could get someone out,” said one man.
National Grid said it’s doing everything it can to make sure if the town does lose power it will go back up quickly. But people are still preparing for a worst-case scenario. As of 10:30 p.m., town managers were happy to say the town still had power.
Officials are asking their children to keep their children inside because if an emergency happens it will be very difficult for emergency responders to reach them.
