MARSHFIELD, Mass. (WHDH) -- Many trees have fallen and caused downed power lines and damage to home in Marshfield.
“The winds must have been pretty intense. These are healthy trees, just snapped in half,” said a homeowner.
Thousands on the South Shore are still without power.
“We played board games by candlelight,” said a woman who was snowed in.
Downed lines will likely take days to repair.
Route 3A looks like a maze. Fire trucks were forced to zigzag the treacherous streets to miss avoid downed trees.
In Scituate, streets were flooded. Waves crashed down on homes and littered the streets with debris. Homes were flooded and cars are stuck.
The town of Hull also took a beating.
“You can’t get where you think you can go because the road is stopped and you know, just sit it out for a couple hours and let the DPW do their work,” said a resident.
Almost all of Scituate is without power and 93 percent of Marshfield is without power. It will likely take crews days to restore all of the power.
