Memorial flags help Boston heal after bombings
BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH)-- More than 1,000 hand sewn flags from around the world were hung at the Museum of Fine Arts Thursday.
The display stretches a mile long and is called “To Boston with Love” to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Berene Campbell is from Vancouver and created this project. She says the flags bring messages of hope to a city trying to heal.
“The beauty of the flags is that they’re literally tied together, just as we are tying the community together…just to hopefully bring some love and upliftment to the people of Boston,” said Campbell.
The display is part of the museum’s free Memorial Day community weekend and it will stay up through July 7.
