MSPCA-Centerville Pet of the Week: Lassie the dog
Looking for a mellow dog to lounge around with? If so, Lassie is your girl.
Lassie is a beautiful 12.5-year-old Shetland sheepdog who was surrendered to MSPCA-Centerville Adoption Center because her owners were moving to a home that does not allow pets. This gorgeous lady is a staff favorite because of her affectionate personality and easy-going character.
She falls in love with every human and animal she meets. She is in excellent condition for her age, however, like many large dogs, she has hip dysplasia so hikes and longs walks are probably not in her future. She takes medication that makes her feel much better, but staffers hope to find a home in which she can relax and enjoy her golden years. Lassie also needs some expensive dental work, which MSPCA will pay out of its Guardian Angel Fund. The Guardian Angel Fund is a fund supported by animal-loving donors that pays for the medical care of homeless Cape Cod animals, such as Lassie.
The MSPCA feels Lassie would do very well around children and other pets as long as both are gentle with her.
