Boston to receive 'Survivor Tree' seedling
BOSTON (WHDH) -- A tree rising from the ashes of the twin towers now stands as a symbol of home.
The ‘Survivor Tree’ in New York City is a pear tree that was pulled from the rubble of the World Trade Center.
Now the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum is launching a seedling program.
So far three communities have been selected to receive seeds from the tree, including Boston, in remembrance of the marathon bombing.
