Police investigating death at Bell in Hand Tavern
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Police are investigating a disturbing discovery inside a bathroom at the Bell in Hand Tavern, where workers found an unconscious man late Wednesday night.
Police say they responded around 2:30 in the morning, about a half-hour after closing, for a report of an unconscious person. When police arrived they say they found an unconscious 30-year-old man inside the bathroom.
The victim was transported to Mass General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Sources tell 7News that there were no signs of foul play or trauma to the victim.
After a preliminary examination, sources are saying that it appears to have been a medical situation. Police are still investigating and they say a full autopsy and toxicology reports will take a few weeks.
A spokesman for the restaurant says that the owners of the restaurant were at the tavern most of the day dealing with all of this, and are said to be very upset. No one could ever remember anything like this happening at the restaurant. Boston police say if anyone has any information about this to come forward.
