Rain, strong winds expected Tuesday night

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Scattered showers are expected to develop by late morning on Tuesday.

Rain will be heavy at times, especially in the afternoon and night across the western half of the state. Winds will also increase in intensity.

Tuesday night will see strong, gusting winds reaching up to 40 to 50 miles per hour. Soaking rain and thunder are expected, especially after midnight.

Downpours and wind are expected Wednesday morning, but will end early. The day will improve with the afternoon.
