Secret Santas decorate tree in Townsend

TOWNSEND, Mass. (WHDH) -- Some Secret Santas performed a random act of kindness in Townsend.

A group of people came together and decorated a small tree, growing along the side of the road.

They left behind a note wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Soon enough, other people added their own ornaments to the tree.

“This year we started seeing ornaments. It seems like every day people keep adding to it. My girls wanted to add bells to it, so we just put some bells on it,” said John D’Agostino.

One family has nicknamed it the "Circle of Life" tree since it is growing out of an older tree's stump.
