OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Organizers say an Ogden benefit for the family of Connecticut school shooting victim Emilie Parker raised $9,000.

Ogden's Standard-Examiner reports Saturday's fundraiser included a silent auction, entertainment, a balloon launch and a moment of silence

All of the proceeds will go to the Parker family, whose 6-year-old daughter Emilie was among 20 students killed on Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Organizers Jessica DeBoer and Lindsie Nielsen say they wanted to show support to the family. They grew up and attended school in Ogden with Emilie's parents, Robbie and Alissa Parker.

The girl was laid to rest Dec. 22 in Ogden after public and private funeral services.

Local businesses donated items for Saturday's auction, including Utah Jazz tickets, vacations and photography sessions.
