Mom, dad and new baby all share same birthday

MILFORD, Mass. -- A local family is beating the odds when it comes to birthdays.

Elizabeth Hogan and Justin Catanzaro, of Milford, always thought it was unusual that they shared the same March 5 birthday.

Hogan and Catanzaro added another member to their "birthday club" Thursday when Hogan went into labor.

Their son Rocco was due Friday the 13^th, but he came a little early in order to share his birthday with mom and dad.

"It was just unbelievable. Nobody would believe me. My parents were all like ‘You're kidding - you're kidding! There's no way!' and yep here he was," Catanzaro said.

Catanzaro says when he met Hogan she didn't even believe they had the same birthday.

"She said ohhh when's your birthday, and I said it's March 5th. She thought it was a pickup line. She goes ohh there's no way so I had to show my id to her. Ever since then we hit it off," Catanzaro said.

The chance of a baby having the same birthday as both of his or her parents is one in 133,225.

This new mom couldn't be more thrilled it happened this way, but she says it definitely wasn't planned.

"It was joked about but I never thought it was going to happen. I would have packed and been prepared more, but it was definitely a great birthday treat for us," Hogan said.

The couple says the nurses at Milford hospital, where the baby was delivered, brought the family flowers and a cake to celebrate the 3 birthdays.
