2 bodies found in Northhampton identified

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Authorities have released the identities of two bodies found in Northampton last weekend.

Police say remains discovered by a canoeist Saturday in the Mill River were those of 55-year-old Gary Schack, a Northampton man who was reported missing on April 16.

The second body, found Sunday in the Twin Ponds area, was identified as 36-year-old Michael Mikalunas of Amherst, who was reported missing on May 2.

Foul play is not suspected in either death. The state medial examiner's office says it is awaiting toxicology tests before determining how each man died.
