Movie filming will cause delays on Zakim Bridge

BOSTON -- The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority is warning motorists to avoid Boston's Zakim Bridge between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

The reason?

Tom Cruise and his new movie.

The bridge, which connects Interstate 93 with downtown Boston, will play host to a stunt for Cruise's big-budget film, which also stars Cameron Diaz.

A helicopter will be hovering above the bridge to capture parts of the scene.

This is not the movie's first intricate stunt, nor is it the first time Bay State residents have been affected by Hollywood filmmakers.

Several weeks ago, a jetliner was blown up in Bridgewater while Ben Affleck's current project shut down roads around Fenway on Saturday.

The bridge closure, tentatively scheduled for after 3 p.m., will likely coincide with the conclusion of Sunday's Red Sox playoff game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
