Alleged groper arrested on Green Line

BOSTON -- Police arrested a man accused of inappropriately grabbing a female from behind at the Copley T station.
William Carlyle, 52, was arrested after the victim positively identified him at the Park Street station.
The victim said that while she was waiting at the Copley T stop for the eastbound train, she felt someone grab her behind, thinking it was the friend that accompanied her. Her friend said it was not.
A male voice then said, "I did it and I liked it." The victim told the man to stop to which he responded, "You will never see me again so what does it matter,” according the police report.
The victim and her friend who witnessed the incident notified an MBTA official to call the police.
Mr. Carlyle was transported to transit police headquarters without further incident.
Monday night’s incident comes on the heels of the MBTA’s ‘See anything, say something” awareness campaign.
Officials have posted signs telling riders to report this type of activity.
MBTA officials say it's important that if something like this happens to you to get a good description of the person and make sure you report when and where the incident happened.
