Man arrested for stealing donation jar from Pembroke store
PEMBROKE, Mass. -- A delivery man was arrested after he was caught on camera stealing a donation jar that was collecting money for breast cancer.
The thief, was a new delivery employee for Gerber Foods. He was at Lindy's General Store in Pembroke when he grabbed the donation jar from the counter.
The theft happened ten days before 46-year-old Paula Swanson died of breast cancer on Oct. 31.
Laura Swanson, Paula's daughter, picked up money from the jar each week for a cause called Paula's People. Swanson hadn't picked up the money for two weeks, and there was more than $200 in the jar when the theft occurred.
The man will be summoned to court later in November.
