Diane Patrick endorses Capuano for U.S. Senate

BOSTON -- The race for U.S. Senator for Massachusetts is heating up.
One candidate got a good word Saturday from Governor Deval Patrick’s wife.
Diane Patrick has announced that she is endorsing Mike Capuano.
"I think most of you know this, but I'll say it anyway, though it may be obvious. He is a very courageous champion for the rights of the people, and the hopes of the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts," said Diane Patrick.
Diane Patrick joins House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Massachusetts First Lady Kitty Dukakis, and former State Representative Marjorie Clapprood in endorsing Capuano.
Michael Capuano, Attorney General Martha Coakley, City Year co-founder Alan Khazei, and Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca are the candidates on the Democratic primary ballot.
The Republicans in the running are State Senator Scott Brown and Boston businessman Attorney Jack E. Robinson.
