Teacher, nurse sent to hospital after water contamination at Boston school

BOSTON -- Police and Homeland Security are investigating a possible deliberate contamination of a water cooler at South Boston High School.

The contaminated water cooler is in the main hallway of the school, and someone allegedly put epsom salt in the water, officials said.

A female student even went to fill her water bottle, but was told by another student that the water was poisonous. 

No children have reportedly been sickened.

However yesterday, both a nurse and a teacher, who drank the contaminated water, thought the liquid tasted odd. The nurse later found residue the bottom of the cup. The two were taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Authorities removed the cooler in question from the building on Wednesday. They now working to discover whether this incident is accidental or criminal in nature.
