Police: Whitey Bulger could be connected to 1980 double murder in Florida

MIAMI -- The Boston Herald reports that Miami Police are testing evidence from a 1980 double murder for DNA, on a hunch that Whitey Bulger may be connected to the murders.

If DNA is found on the evidence, but no comparative DNA from Bulger is available, police could seek a special court order.

That order would be to extract blood from one of Bulger's five brothers.

Experts say that sibling DNA is not an exact match, but it would tell them if they could rule out Bulger.
