Officials investigate the small plane landing in Boxboro
BOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Federal aviation officials are investigating the emergency landing of a small plane on Route 495 in Boxborough.
It happened at the height of the afternoon rush hour on Monday but no one in the plane or on the ground was hurt.
The pilot of the single-engine Cessna -- Allan Kidd of Brownstone, Michigan -- said he didn't have enough fuel to make it to Boston so he brought the aircraft down in the breakdown lane of the highway.
Kidd said he and a friend were traveling to a Vietnam veterans reunion in Boston.
