Dorothy Philbrook apparently tried to escape her killer... but she wound up dead on her neighbor's porch.
A SWAT Team stormed the home on Sea Street around 9:45 p.m. Friday night. Police removed three semiautomatic rifles from the residence.
Malden police arrested George Philbrook later that night in connection with the shooting. Officers found Philbrook in a liquor store.
Middlesex DA Gerald Leone Jr. said when Philbrook was arrested his gun had been fully reloaded with over 50 rounds of ammunition.
The Philbrooks divorced several years ago but still lived together.
Neighbors are shocked and devastated.
