Rhode Island man mistaken for Whitey

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. -- A Rhode Island man found himself at the center of the search for fugitive mobster Whitey Bulger while vacationing in Italy.

The FBI released a video in September which depicted a man resembling Whitey Bulger and his girlfriend Catherine Greig in Italy.

It turns out the man in he video is not Bulger. It's Bob Dowdy, a sales manager from South Kingston.

Dowdy and his wife had been enjoying their vacation in Italy until they were stopped by police.

Dowdy was let go after police questioned him for two hours.

Police gave him a letter stating he is not Whitey Bulger, in case he is stopped again.
