FBI concentrating on Europe in search for Bulger

BOSTON -- Investigators have received over 100 tips in their search for James "Whitey" Bulger since a possible sighting of the fugitive gangster in Italy last year.

FBI Special Agent Richard Teahan says authorities are focusing their search on Europe following a sighting in April of a couple resembling Bulger and his longtime girlfriend, Catherine Greig, in the Sicilian resort of Taormina.

The FBI posted a video clip on its website of the couple in September asking for the public's help in finding them.

Teahan says authorities are focusing on Europe because Bulger was known to travel there before he became a fugitive.

Friday marks the 13th anniversary of Bulger's disappearance. His is wanted in 19 murders and is on the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list.
