Underground gas tank overflows, closes streets

STONEHAM, Mass. -- Two streets in Stoneham were shutdown on Wednesday afternoon after an underground gas tank overflowed.

The accident happened while a tanker truck was refilling the tank at 259 Main Street.

Fuel leaked onto Main Street and William Street, closing them the roads for a short time.

Crews were on the scene cleaning up the mess. It is unclear how much gas leaked onto the streets.
