
Underground gas tank overflows, closes streets
STONEHAM, Mass. -- Two streets in Stoneham were shutdown on Wednesday afternoon after an underground gas tank overflowed.
The accident happened while a tanker truck was refilling the tank at 259 Main Street.
Fuel leaked onto Main Street and William Street, closing them the roads for a short time.
Crews were on the scene cleaning up the mess. It is unclear how much gas leaked onto the streets.
