BOSTON -- Former General Manager of WHDH and WLVI Randi Goldklank has resigned. She appeared in court Friday morning to face charges from an incident at Logan International Airport.

Goldklank was arrested in April and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer.

7News placed her on administrative leave following the incident.

The charge of assault and battery on a police officer was dismissed Friday. And the two other charges were continued without a finding for one year. As part of the agreement reached in court, Goldklank had to apologize to State Police and Delta Airline employees.  She has to make restitution for an officer's glasses that were broken in the incident at the airport. She must abstain from alcohol and non-prescription drugs and she must continue to get therapy and counseling.

Goldklank released this statement: "I have decided to resign my position at WHDH and WLVI to continue focusing on getting healthy. I appreciate the support I have received from Ed Ansin and my friends and colleagues at WHDH and WLVI.  I look forward to returning to work in the broadcast industry in the near future."

Station owner Edmund Ansin, President of Sunbeam Television Corporation, released this statement:  "This has been an unfortunate circumstance. Randi Goldklank is a talented executive. We wish her great success."
