Teens arrested for armed robbery at Panera Bread

Teens arrested for armed robbery at Panera Bread

NEEDHAM, Mass. -- Three teens were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Panera Bread in Needham.

Police said the masked teens robbed the store on Highland Avenue just after 12 a.m. Thursday and then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

The teens waited for the store's manager to leave when they carjacked him and ordered him back into the restaurant at gunpoint.

They ordered the manager to open the store's safe, where they got away with cash and a computer. They tried to damage the store's surveillance system.

Officers stopped the vehicle at 60 Kendrick Street and arrested two of the suspects; Perckens Borde, 19, and Kermins Hylaire, 18.

Police located the third suspect, Herauld Laquerra, 18, after he fled to a nearby wooded area. He was caught several hours later on the railroad tracks near 128.

All three suspects were charged with carjacking and armed robbery while masked.

The teens were arraigned in Dedham District Court Thursday morning. All three were ordered held on $15,000 bail.

A spokesperson for Panera Bread says the company is grateful no one was hurt and grateful for the quick response by police.
