Pembroke residents warned to boil water
PEMBROKE, Mass. -- Officials in Pembroke are warning residents not to drink the city's water after E. coli was found in the distribution system.
City officials say residents should boil the water for one minute before using it or use bottled water.
Police say reverse 911 calls were sent Friday night but not all residents received them.
Pembroke Water Department officials say all the town's 5,600 households are affected.
Officials say they are adding more chlorine to the distribution system and will keep testing the water to determine when it is safe.
They say the boil order could remain in effect all weekend.
