Boston deputy fire chief charged with rape

BOSTON -- A Boston deputy fire chief is accused of raping a woman at gunpoint and posing as a police officer.

Peter Pearson, 51, of East Bridgewater, faces several charges including, aggravated rape, assault with a dangerous weapon, impersonating a police officer and kidnapping while armed with a firearm.

The incident allegedly happened on July 1, 2008.

The 37-year-old woman told police that a man had picked her up and took her to D.W. Field Park then forced to perform a sexual act.

The woman told police that the man was armed with a gun and claimed to be a state trooper.

Pearson was ordered held until his arraignment in Brockton District Court on Wednesday morning.
