BOSTON -- A $25,000 reward has been posted in the unsolved slaying of a Northeastern University student.

The family of Rebecca Payne, along with the university and her former employer, Legal Sea Foods, posted the award Tuesday for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Payne, a 22-year-old senior from New Milford, Conn., was found shot to death May 20 in her off-campus apartment in the Mission Hill section of Boston. Police said there was no signed of forced entry into the apartment and investigators aren't sure if Payne knew her assailant.

In a statement, Nicholas Payne said the family believes there are people who have valuable information about his daughter's death, and he asked them to help bring the person responsible to justice.
