Police: Man drugged, raped women he met online

HAMPTON FALLS, Mass. -- A 34-year-old New Hampshire man is accused of drugging and raping women he met online, said police.

Investigators said Thomas Currier would allegedly drug his victims by giving them a tainted drink and then would rape them in his apartment.

"He insisted that they drink a particular beverage, and then upon drinking that beverage, they reported rapid onset of impairment," said Thomas Reid, Rockingham County Deputy Attorney. "And then sexual encounters would take place."

Police said Currier has been meeting women on dating Web sites since June.

"We do have allegations from more than one woman," Reid said .

Authorities do not have an exact number of victims, but they said that the alleged victims are in their 30s and 40s.

Authorities said more women are coming forward with similar stories about Currier. One woman said when she went to his home and wouldn't take a drink, he threatened her with a gun.

So far, Currier was charged with one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault, but police think more charges will be filed.

Anyone with more information is asked to call police.
