BRENTWOOD, N.H. -- A Salem, N.H., restaurant its owners have been convicted of illegal gambling.

Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams says Sayde's Restaurant was found guilty of 10 counts of gambling while possessing a liquor license and fined $45,000.

Owners Gus and Saydie Kassis each were convicted on one count of gambling. They received a suspended 12-month jail sentence and a suspended fine.

Reams said the restaurant and owners were busted after a two-year investigation in which police seized several gambling machines containing cash.
