Man dead, 3 children hurt in Halifax crash

HALIFAX, Mass. -- One man died and several other people, including three children, were injured in a two-car head-on crash in Halifax.
Police say 55-year-old Daniel Finer of Middleborough was pronounced dead at Brockton Hospital after the accident late Sunday morning. Finer was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Diane Botelho of Wareham. She was taken to the hospital where she was listed in good condition on Sunday night.
Police say neither was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the other vehicle, 35-year-old Lisa Matta of Halifax, and her three children ages 13, 9 and 2, were treated and released at a hospital. Matta tells The Patriot Ledger she was on her way to church.
The incident remains under investigation.
