Toys for Tots in need of donations

BOSTON -- One charity is making a plea this holiday to make the season a little brighter for children in need.

Toys for Tots is facing a shortage and needs help.

The Marines and State Police who run the annual toy drive have noticed a huge drop in donations.

Their goal is to help 300,000 children, so they are calling on the public to come to the aid of these children.

"The donations to this point in time compared to last year, they're about 50 percent less, so the warehouses are really short on toys," said Lt. Eric Anderson, of the Massachusetts State Police. "So we're hoping the public can really step up and make a toy donation."

Anyone interested in helping can drop off toys at any Massachusetts State Police barracks or pitch in online at toysfortots.org.
