CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (WHDH) -- Neighbors in Charlestown were on alert Wednesday night after a woman was attacked and robbed in broad daylight Tuesday.
“That’s really scary I mean that’s really scary you like to think that it’s a safe neighborhood. I have family in the neighborhood too, so it’s really scary,” one resident said.
Police say the 27-year-old victim was walking down Green Street when two men asked her for a cigarette. As she was about to hand over one when police say one of the suspects grabbed her cell phone, wallet, and shopping bag and bit her left arm.
The victim told investigators that a second suspect yelled, "Just grab the cell phone," just as a witness tried to grab the suspects -- but they both got away.
Neighbors are concerned for their safety.
“I might try to not walk too late at night, I try to have my husband with me at all times. We have a dog, so I’ll try to keep the dog with us too,” a resident said.
Police urge anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
