Police investigating body found under Boston overpass
BOSTON (WHDH) -- A body was found under the Interstate 93 overpass at Albany Street and Travelers Street in Boston Monday morning and police believe foul play was involved.
The murder victim was found under Route 93 in an area frequented by the homeless. He was left for dead in the middle of a gravel covered area that's clearly marked ‘No Trespassing.’
Investigators removed evidence from the man described as a white male, maybe in his early 40's. Police said he had a stomach wound. His credit cards, a watch and other evidence were confiscated from the area that is believed to be the crime scene.
A source said the victim's injuries could not have been self inflicted and that they saw at least one, possibly two sets of shoe impressions in the snow that suggested someone walked away from the body toward the fence.
This is an area a lot of homeless people have been known to hang out in. The Pine Street Inn is not far from here but investigators said the victim is not a homeless person and indicated he had a been in a fight.
It’s still unclear how long the body had been here or whether the victim had been stabbed or shot.
